Coming out to yourself.

Love is a fickle thing.
Like a drive along an old country road, there’s plenty of bumps and potholes along the way.
For some, that road isn’t always what they expected.
We grow up hoping for a family, a loving partner and to feel the unconditional bond from another. Some people experience fertility potholes, relationship roadworks or an identity crossroad. The conflicting battle of finding the right road can be as-easy-as merging into another lane. But for some, the ability to turn that blinker on takes a lot of courage. There’s a moment of hesitation, self-doubt and suppression.
We hear about the struggle of coming out to families and friends, but where’s the chapter about coming out to yourself?
The self-destructive process of fighting the societal-set path. Realising your own happiness sits higher than the opinions of others. Understanding your life isn’t about pleasing the world, it’s about choosing yourself.
Love isn’t always a choice.
The heart and mind don’t know the barriers of the modern-day world. We choose our person because of the qualities they possess, the feelings they create and the bonds they form. Don’t fight the feeling of difference, be different, be unique, be you.
